I was out at Port Righ, Carradale on the west coast of Scotland and recorded this bird. I've no idea what the bird is or if it is in fact the bird in the photo. The loud repetitive sound was coming from the tree in the top right photo and the middle right photo is the only bird I could see but it was too far away to say for sure if this was the source. I've been through my book of Scottish Birds by Valerie Thom trying to match up the images with the sound files on the rspb website. Still trying to find a match. It's a good way to learn other bird calls though!
UPDATE: Thanks to the folks over at birdforum.net who identified this little bird as a chaffinch and also pointed out that there are also house sparrows, a blackbird and a gull on the audio clip.

I was minding my own business recording some wave sounds with my m-audio recorder and inadvertently got too close to a couple of nesting oystercatchers. They weren't too happy about me being there!
